A. Study Leaves
1. Effective September 1, 2000,
Study Leaves shall be granted to each college annually at
the rate of one per 13 tenured faculty or fraction thereof
in that college.
2. No fewer than four (4) Study
Leaves shall be assigned annually to a central pool to be
utilized for untenured presidential track faculty. These
Study Leaves shall be assigned by the Provost after consultation
with the Faculty Senate Study Leave Committee.
3. The faculty in consultation
with the Dean of each college shall determine the method
of utilization of the Study Leaves assigned to that college.
4. Study Leaves distributed
to any college which does not utilize them shall either be
transferred by the Provost to the central pool or be retained
until the following year within the college to which assigned.
5. One half of the replacement
costs for Study Leaves utilized by a college shall be absorbed
by that college.
6. A faculty member on leave
for a full year shall receive half salary for one year.
7. A faculty member on leave
for 2 year shall receive full salary up to a maximum of $48,000
per Study Leave.

C. Interest Free Loans
The University will loan to
bargaining unit members up to a maximum of $2,500 during
the life of this Agreement, to purchase personal computers
and computer related equipment. The loan will be repaid within
a one year period, by payroll deduction or a lump sum payment.
Purchases will be made through Temple=s Purchasing Department.
In the event an individual leaves the University, the amount
owed will be deducted from their last paycheck.
